Lumix

Project Info:

Project FAT was a school project during my second year of education. The assignment for each team was to make an interactive installation that had something to do with a specific store in the city of Enschede. A difference this year compared to other years was that the installation also had to make use of data about the city which each team had to collect themselves.

The result we made was Lumix, an interactive installation for a light design store in Enschede with data about the opinions about some of the iconic buildings in the city from the people who lived there. We started a commercial campaign and created a website where people could give their opinions weeks prior to the exhibition itself.

During the exhibition people could interact with the installation which looks like a design lamp at first sight, but when you put on special 3D glasses you could see the data and 3D model of a certain building by selecting one of the 3D printed buildings. We were very proud of the final result and even got the highest grade possible!

My role during the project was as a software/hardware developer. I mainly focused on creating all the interactions with the sensors, connecting the Arduino with Unity, as well creating all the special effects with the LED strips.
